Dr. David Dalin

Dr. David Dalin is currently the Taube Research Fellow in History at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. He has been a Bradley Fellow at the Heritage Foundation, and an Adjunct Scholar at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, in Washington D.C. During the 2002-2003 academic year, he was a Visiting Fellow at Princeton University’s James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions.

Dr. Dalin received his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. from Brandeis University. He also received his Rabbinic Ordination, and a second M.A., from the Jewish Theological Seminary.

Dr. Dalin is the author or co-author of eight books, including Religion and State in the American Jewish Experience (co-authored with Professor Jonathan D. Sarna of Brandeis University), and The Presidents of the United States and the Jews.

Dr. Dalin has lectured extensively on Muslim anti-Semitism and on the role and legacy of Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, as a founding father of radical Islamic anti-Semitism and terrorism. He is now working on a new book, to be published by Random House, on Hitler’s Mufti and the Rise of Radical Islam. Sir Martin Gilbert, the official biographer of Winston Churchill, will be writing the introduction to Dr. Dalin’s new book.

Dr. Dalin’s numerous articles and book reviews have appeared in a variety of publications, including Commentary, First Things, Policy Review, the Weekly Standard and the American Jewish Year Book.
