• Approximately 23,000 African refugees have fled from the humanitarian crisis in their countries and have found refuge in Israel.
  • Israel is approximately the size of New Jersey and without the West Bank and Gaza, the size of Rhode Island. Florida is 8 times the size of Israel. You can walk from the Mediterranean Sea to the West Bank in 2.5 hours; the distance is only 9 miles across. Israel is under 290 miles long.
  • Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East. It is one of the few countries in the Middle East where women vote, had the first Woman Prime Minister in the world, and women are elected to the Knesset (Israeli Parliament).
  • There consistently has been Arab members of the Knesset, (Israeli Parliament). Where in the Arab or Muslim world are there Jewish members of the Parliament?
  • Israel is 1/800 of the size of the Arab world (not including Iran). There are 56 Islamic, 49 Roman Catholic, 20 Protestant 12 Eastern Orthodox 4 Hindi and 1 Jewish nations worldwide.
  • Jews have resided in Israel for over 3,000 years and Jerusalem has officially been the capitol of the Jews since 1003 BCE during the reign of King David. No other conquering force ever recognized Jerusalem as its own capital.
  • Since the fall of the Second Temple, 70 AD, Jews in the Diaspora have turned to Jerusalem when praying. The Muslims face Mecca.
  • Hebrew and Arabic are the official languages of Israel.
  • Jewish and Arab Israeli citizens serve on the Knesset, sit on the Supreme Court, represent Israel as ambassadors, and even Miss Israel is represented by Jews and Arabs in the national beauty pageant.
  • Israel protects all faiths to have freedom of religion and access to their holy sites
  • Israel has opened boarders for non-Jewish refugees from the Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Lebanon, Albania, and Vietnam.
  • In 1948, Israel embraced over 850,000 Jewish refugees from Arab lands and these refugees never received compensation from their former nations.
  • Israel is amongst the first to deliver humanitarian aid when disaster strikes in Haiti, Turkey, Ethiopia, Greece, India, Tibet, Peru, El Salvador, Armenia, New Guinea, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and other worldwide locations
  • Demographics: 75% Jewish, 16% Muslim, 4% others, 2.5% Christians, 1.5 Druze
  • Of the Jews: 70% are Sabras (Israeli born), 20.5% born in the US or Europe and 9.2% from Asia and Africa (including Arab countries)
  • Of Arabs: 83% are Sunni Moslems, 9% Druze, and 9% Christian.
  • Syrian Christians are 2.5% of the population and the percentage of Bedouin are unknown
  • Other citizens include African Hebrew Israelites of Jerusalem, Armenians, Assyrians, Circassians and Samaritans
  • Nationalities of recent immigrants include: FSU, Ethiopia, France, USA, United Kingdom, India, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Venezuela, South Africa, Germany, Belgium, Central America, Switzerland, Uruguay, Mexico, Oceania, Hungary, Chile, Romania, and the Netherlands.
